Merry Receives SBTi Carbon Reduction Target Certification, Commits to Significant Carbon Reduction by 2032
Merry Electronics has announced that it has officially received certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term carbon reduction targets. This move demonstrates Merry's firm commitment to sustainable operations, officially pledging that by 2032, it will reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions for Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 50.4% from the 2023 baseline year, and reduce Scope 3 absolute GHG emissions by 30%.
In recent years, Merry has implemented various carbon reduction strategies including improving energy efficiency, increasing the proportion of renewable energy use, optimizing supply chain management, and promoting innovative product design. This certification represents an important step for Merry Electronics toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2040. Merry also plans to achieve 100% renewable energy use by 2030, completing its RE100 goal ahead of schedule, further reducing the environmental impact of its operations.
