On April 3, a strong earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale struck the Hualien area, causing numerous building collapses and casualties. In response to the disaster, MERRY Industrial announced a donation of 2 million TWD to assist disadvantaged families affected by the earthquake. MERRY Industrial has seen impressive revenue performance in recent years and continues to give back to society, with total donations exceeding 10 million TWD in 2023.
MERRY's President, Huang Chao-Feng, stated that the company has officially incorporated sustainability into its corporate vision to respond more deeply to climate and sustainability issues, driving corporate growth with a sustainable DNA. In addition to seeking innovative sustainable materials for its products and responding to global climate initiatives, MERRY aims to quickly address social needs in collaboration with its supply chain. Thus, in light of the Hualien earthquake, the company promptly made a donation of 2 million TWD as a gesture of support.
The relief funds will be entrusted to World Vision Taiwan to assist affected households in overcoming difficulties and restoring normalcy. Furthermore, MERRY has utilized its internal platform to share donation channels and information, inviting employees to join in the charitable efforts and contribute to spreading positive energy in society.
