Journey to the Toy Bank-Giving
Pre-Owned Toys a New Lease on Life
The Toy Bank is an organization established by the Social Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government. Through volunteer participation, pre-owned toys are repaired and repurposed, then distributed to community hubs for parent-child activities or made available for application and use by social welfare organizations, community groups, schools, and other relevant entities. The collected toys are meticulously screened, repaired, organized, cleaned, and categorized by teachers and volunteers. A volunteer shared that participating in this activity not only made them feel like they were reliving their childhood but also, through cleaning and organizing, enabled toys originally destined for disposal to regain their luster, bringing warmth to children in need, which was an incredibly heartwarming experience. In 2024, MERRY rallied volunteers to visit the unit to participate in toy repair workshops, toy cleaning, and toyorganizing activities, with a total of 34 participants contributing 136 hours, and organizing 130 kilograms of toys.

Providing Packaging Assistance to the Hearing-Impaired Community
Meng En Hearing-Impaired Bakery is an establishment primarily staffed by deaf bakers, dedicated to ensuring that all baking processes are exclusively completed by deaf individuals, without reliance on hearing individuals. MERRY has partnered with Meng En Hearing-Impaired Bakery for three consecutive years, providing packaging assistance in anticipation of the Mid-Autumn Festival. In 2024, MERRY further encouraged volunteers to learn sign language during activities, inviting the CEO of the Meng En Foundation to provide direct instruction, effectively fostering employees' understanding and appreciation of hearing equity. Ecological Education
Fazi River Clean-up Activity
MERRY's headquarters is located in Taichung City Industrial Park, adjacent to the Fazi River. This area is renowned for its rich ecological diversity, not only boasting beautiful natural landscapes but also serving as a crucial habitat for various endemic Taiwanese flora and fauna. However, in recent years, with the increase in human activities, the environment has been somewhat affected; notably, the appearance of protected species such as the Leopard Cat has drawn public attention, further emphasizing the imperative of protecting the surrounding environment.
In alignment with environmental protection objectives, MERRY mobilized 26 Volunteers for a watershed clean-up initiative along the Fazi River. Concurrently, participating employees were provided with comprehensive information on the Fazi River's ecological environment, enabling Volunteers to gain an in-depth understanding of its biodiversity and the critical importance of its conservation. This initiative accumulated a total of 130 Volunteer hours, successfully removing 16.4 kilograms of waste, thereby contributing significantly to the preservation of the local ecological environment.
